Job Description

We looking for an outstanding driver engineer who can bring their experience and passion to our new projects, and who also relishes the challenge of pre-empting (and fixing!) the kind of fiendish bugs that are only revealed by tens of thousands of customers using our products every day.

You'll work with us to specify, design, build and improve our driver software for a variety of platforms.  You'll evaluate new technologies, adopt and refine new working practices; and most importantly write lucid, high performance, robust and maintainable code which will form the backbone of new product ranges.

You'll join us at our headquarters in High Wycombe, or telecommute from anywhere in the world.

Role description


This is a strategic and tactical role, creating, implementing and overseeing communications programs that effectively promote the Professional and Project Recording products, such that they achieve or exceed their respective business goals. This role includes the creation and execution of industry-changing global product launches, requiring a degree of international travel. As the primary marketing tactician for the Focusrite brand, this role acts as primary brand arbiter for one of the most prestigious names in professional recording.

Key responsibilities

  •     Creation, communication and implementation of category marcomm strategies
    •         Creation & execution of global new product launches
  •     Generation of all global briefs, providing direction for the marcomm services team
  •     Act as a the primary arbiter for the brand and its rich heritage
  •     A communication bridge between product managers and marcomm services
  •     Working with AR/PR Manager to maintain key pro recording global media relations
  •     Working with AR/PR Manager to define key pro recording Artist relations
  •     Oversee the maintenance of category product pages on global brand sites
  •     Generation of occasional short professional recording marketing copy

Abilities and experience required

  •     Demonstrable understanding & empathy for recording professionals
  •     Good knowledge of current music production techniques
  •     Experience in creating and managing modern marketing activities
  •     Understanding of the rudiments of digital marketing
  •     Experience in the creation of brand and channel-oriented marketing strategies alike

Job Description

Novation (and our sister brand, Focusrite) make a wide variety of music and pro audio products, from MIDI controller keyboards to high-end studio equipment. We’re looking for a great hardware and firmware design engineer to join our expanding team.

You'll work with us to specify, design, build and improve our products.  You'll evaluate new technologies, adopt and refine new working practices, write bombproof firmware, and most importantly design high quality, cost effective mixed signal electronics.

Embedded within our creative instruments team, your primary focus will be on keyboards, synthesisers and controllers - but you’ll also review other designs and support the rest of the hardware team.

Skills & Requirements

An ideal candidate would be:

  • Widely experienced in analogue, digital and mixed signal electronics
  • Familiar with EMC, ESD and design for manufacture
  • A solid C developer with a good knowledge of ARM

You'll work with us to specify, design and build software and hardware products.  You'll evaluate new technologies, adopt and refine new working practices; and most importantly write lucid, high performance, maintainable code which will form the backbone of new product ranges.

You'll also help us maintain our portfolio, from kernel-mode drivers to iOS apps (via embedded DSP algorithms, VST plugins and web applications) - but don't worry, we won't expect you to be an expert in all of them!

An ideal candidate would be:

  • Widely experienced in audio, music and application software
  • Master of a variety of programming languages, platforms and operating systems (C++, Windows, iOS, and Mac OS X experience essential, Cocoa and C# also desirable)
  • An excellent designer, debugger and problem solver
